Progect 5: Logos

MeganDotsonP5Logos

  1. Description: Create a logo for a real or fictional organization
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I started with several sketches of different companies.  I chose Eclipse Studios because I thought I could be very creative with my three designs.  Once the sketches were done, I got to work with the designs.  By using Adobe Illustrator, I had a much easier time with creating these logos than if I had used any other program.  I followed a complimentary color scheme and repeated my circular shape to give my logos better unity.  I used the shape and eyedropper tool the most, so I could create that unity.  Then using the text tool to follow the line of the beam of light, I wrote Eclipse Studios.  Finally, I took my top design that my audience liked and converted it to white on color and greyscale.
  3. Message: I wanted my movie studio to be noticed while giving it a mature, fashionable feeling.
  4. Audience: My logos were meant more for adults.
  5. Top Thing Learned: Simplicity can go a long way.  I’ve always worried that my designs weren’t creative enough or that they need to be more complex, but that is not always the best way.
  6. Color Scheme and Color Names: Complimentary – blue and gold
  7. Title / Body Font Names & Categories:  Oriya MN – modern

Megan, this is so well done! Your logo is one of my favorites. It might be a bias because I love moons and anything that has anything to do with them, but still. I love how creative you were with making an eclipse and using the name of the studio to create that. I also like your addition of the circle outlining the eclipse, it keeps it nice and clean. Good job.

Here’s another logo that I think you might like, check it out: https://sammosssam.wordpress.com/2015/11/01/p5-logos/comment-page-1/#comment-15
